About Us
Who we are:
SCCORE.org is the Southern California
Consortium on Research in Education, which began its work in 2001.
It is based in the Program in Public Policy Analysis at Pomona
College in Claremont, California.
Our mission:
SCCORE.org's mission is to gather and publish authoritative
information and analysis on elementary and secondary education in
the Five County Region: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino
and Ventura Counties. The Consortium seeks to inform and improve
the public conversation about schools and school reform. Our intended
audience includes policy-makers, practitioners, parents, and the
public, as well as researchers and those who fund their research.
Where we get our data:
All reports on SCCORE.org pages were
developed using publicly available data, most of which is published
on-line by the California Department of Education. We are indebted
to the sponsors of California's Public Schools Accountability Act of
1999 (authored by State Senator Dede Alpert, Pomona College class
of 1967), and to those who gather and report this data.
