Most elementary schools enroll 500-999 students.

  • An elementary school is defined here as a school where 90% or more of its enrollment is K-6.
  • Most Five County Region schools (approximately 70%) enroll 500-999 students.
  • Distribution of school sizes Outside Los Angeles County and within it are quite similar.
  • Higher proportions of Los Angeles Unified School District schools are larger and smaller than 500-999 students.
  • Comparatively, a higher proportion of schools in LAUSD are bigger than schools outside LAUSD.
